Ranvir jokes Richard ‘follows’ Britney Spears on Instagram
Ranvir Singh silenced Richard Madeley on Monday’s Good Morning Britain when he took aim at US pop star Britney Spears.
Ranvir, who is standing in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV chatshow, briefly appeared via video on Good Morning Britain to discuss what was coming up in the show when she mentioned Britney Spears and how fans are concerned about her.
A clip showed the pop star dancing in her home as Richard asked soon after: “Now listen, just going back to Britney… How old is Britney Spears now, Ranvir?”
“I’m not the Britney correspondent, I’ve got Ross in LA to do that bit, Richard, you’re exposing me now,” Ranvir replied.
“Good comeback!” co-host Kate Garraway responded.

“I think she’s in her 30s,” Ranvir estimated before Richard added: “She’s in her 40s now, isn’t she?”
“Oh she’s 41, hang on a minute, I’m being told – breaking news she’s 41,” Ranvir clarified.
“She looks amazing for 41,” the presenter added, before continuing: “Anyway, plenty more coming up on Britney, Richard, you seem very invested in the story.”
“No, no, no – I just wonder when she’s going to stop pole dancing… You know, anyway,” Richard stated.

“You’ve clearly got her Instagram,” Ranvir hit back as Kate laughed out loud.
“I report what I read in the papers, thank you very much,” Richard responded.
Holding up his phone, he added: “She’s not on there, I promise!”
“That backfired, didn’t it?” Ranvir commented before bluntly adding: “Bye!”
Viewers also fumed about Richard’s comments, with several taking to social media to complain about his “sexism”.
