Gogglebox star rushed to hospital in an ambulance after nasty accident at home | The Sun

GOGGLEBOX star Gyles Brandreth was rushed to hospital after suffering a nasty accident.

The 74-year-old took to social media to tell fans about the incident while pictured in the back of an ambulance with a sling on.

He told fans he’d broken his humerus, and wrote: “Don’t break your humerus:it’s not funny! It’s a pain: literally.

“But if you’re going to take a tumble on the pavement as I did last night, do it in Fife where there are ace people like Lynne & Emma & Malcolm ready to come to the rescue with care, skill & kindness. Just the best!”

Gyles posed with the ambulance staff who’d helped him after his tumble and thanked them for their kindness.

The star could be seen sitting in the back with his arm in a sling but still smiling despite the situation.

Gyles recently revealed that he’d turned down a spot on Strictly Come Dancing.

The 74-year-old said he was invited by producers on the BBC but had to refuse.

Many insisted they would love to see him on the Strictly dance floor and urged him to reconsider.

Gogglebox stars are not generally allowed to appear on other shows, though that doesn't apply to the celebrity version.

Gyles tweeted his followers explaining why he'd turned down the chance to appear alongside them.
