Tom Daley, 27, may be taking a different direction in his career on the back of his success at the Olympics in Tokyo. In the coming months, Tom may have to leave his family behind as he takes part in the UK’s most challenging TV show, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

Tom’s previous stint of reality TV was on his own show Splash! which he created back in 2013 and saw celebrities trying their hand and mastering the art of diving.

However, this year Tom could be turning in his swimming trunks for a pair of combat trousers and hiking boots.

The Gold medal Olympian is just 2/1 with the bookies to follow in the footsteps of fellow Olympic champion Mo Farah, who appeared in the hit ITV show last year.

Spokesperson for Ladbrokes, Alex Apati said: “Tom Daley is finally an Olympic champion, and there’s all the chance ITV chiefs snap him up for the next series of I’m A Celeb, as they look to assemble their strongest line-up yet.”

There has been no official announcement yet as to whether Tom will be joining this years line up as the official line-up will not be announced yet for another several months.

This announcement usually comes a week or so before the series is set to start as the celebrities start to leave their seemingly normal life and start the adventure of a lifetime.

The latest odds come after Tom won a gold medal for the mens 10m Synchronised platform with partner Matty Lee.

Speaking after the event, Tom said: “We’ve had an unstoppable mentality this year, I still can’t believe what’s happening and I didn’t think I was going to get here in the first place.

“Everything has fallen into place, and we just knew what we had to do to get the job done.”

The rumour mill surrounding which celebrities will be entering the jungle is always a big topic to talk about and this year there are some big names being thrown around.

Little Mix star Jade Thirlwall, 28, has been one of the names mentioned surrounding who will be entering the jungle this year.

Whilst doing an interview for Heart Radio, Jade teased: “I’ll try anything once me, do you know what I mean? I’ll give it a crack!”

Jade also went on to say: “If something smells bad, I won’t put it in my mouth, but I am good at creepy crawlies.”

Stephen Mulhern being one of Ant and Dec’s close friend has also been rumoured to be joining the cast. He admitted it would take a lot of money for him to go into the jungle.

He joked: “I’ve got a very plain palette and the thought of putting stuff in my mouth… I don’t know if I could do it. How about £3million and I’ll do it. Alright, if you can get half that I’m in!”

Stephen was a fan favourite to replace long standing host Ant McPartlin whilst he took some time off for personal reasons, but the ITV bosses had other ideas for the show.

There has not been any confirmation yet as to whether the show will be taking place in the Australian jungle or in the medieval castle in Wales.

After the coronavirus pandemic, the I’m A Celeb team set up a camp in Wales last year with harsh weather conditions. The format of the show however had been kept the same.

Fans are eager to hear who will be stepping up for the challenge this year and where the contestants will be sent on their life changing adventure.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is scheduled to returned later this year on ITV.
