Mike Tindall was one of this year’s surprise sign-ups for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! as the first-ever royal to take part. He will be joined by 11 other contestants who are are taking a break from their everyday lives to go Down Under and face often terrifying and disgusting challenges. So what is there is to know about Mike Tindall?

Former England rugby union player Mike Tindall MBE will be heading into I’m A Celebrity for the 2022 series.

He was spotted touching down in Brisbane, Australia, ahead of his stint on the show.

Tindall played outside centre for both Bath and Gloucester and won 75 caps for England during an 11-year period.

He was also a member of the England squad when they took home the trophy at the 2003 World Cup.

How old is I’m A Celebrity 2022 contestant Mike Tindall?

Former rugby player Mike Tindall was born on October 18, 1978, which now makes him 44 years old.

As well as his sporting career, he is also known for his marriage to Princess Anne’s daughter Zara.

Tindall is a few years older than his royal other half who was born in 1981 and is now 41.

Together, they have three children, Mia, eight, Lena, four, and son Lucas who was born in March last year.

Tindall and Zara first met in 2003 during the World Cup at Manly Wharf bar in Sydney.

He had been dropped by the England team leading into the semi-finals and so was watching the match with fellow ex-players Martin Corry and Austin Healey.

The pair were introduced this night with Zara leaving her number to give to her future husband.

They continued to keep in touch and when they got back to the UK, Zara invited him as her date to the North Cotswold Ball.

Fast-forward almost 20 years and Tindall is going to be heading into I’m A Celebrity this weekend.

Talking about the next few weeks, he said: “It is sinking in now that I am taking part. I am ready to rumble!

“I have been asked on numerous occasions to take part.

“The timing was right this year and Hask (James Haskell) did the show and he had been talking about it.”

Tindall will be one of the original 10 who will be welcomed by Ant and Dec to the show.

The campmates are later going to be joined by newcomers comedian Seann Walsh and former health secretary Matt Hancock.

But how will all of them cope with the extreme conditions of the Australian Outback?
