Gary Lucy has filmed his final Hollyoaks scenes, after 23 years on the hit soap.
The 40-year-old has appeared as Luke Morgan on the Channel 4 show since 1999, and had countless dramatic storylines that have covered important issues such as male rape.
However, Gary’s time on the soap is coming to an end and he's now filmed his final scenes, with co-star Erin Palmer posting about how much she will “miss him” on set.
The actress, who plays Ella Richardson, shared a selection of photos of the duo as they posed behind-the-scenes.
She captioned the snaps: "Best of times. Loved these scenes. I’ll really miss you @gary.lucy thank you for your lovely note. Till we meet again."
Gary joined Hollyoaks in 1999 for two years. During this time the Channel 4 drama featured a storyline which saw his character raped by his rival, Mark Gibbs.
It was the first time a soap drama had ever tackled this subject before and Hollyoaks received huge praise for how they handled the topic.
Luke eventually got his justice as he opened up to his brother and Mark was sent to prison for eight years.
After the traumatic event, Luke decided to move to Canada but returned to the village in 2002 for his parent’s remarriage, and again in 2017.
In 2017, Luke returned to the show with Mandy (played by Sarah Jayne Dunn) and later took on a difficult task of repairing his relationship with his estranged son, Ollie.
Luke struggled with his alcoholism, while Ollie was facing his own traumatic and difficult time as he was being groomed by his football coach, Buster.

The heart-breaking story wasn’t the end of the families struggles. Luke was diagnosed with dementia two years later and since then his health has been declining on the show ever since.
The symptoms of his condition include a noticeable change in behaviour and an increase in his impulsive actions.
A flashforward scene last month seemed to confirm that Luke is going to die in the next few months meaning that Gary will be leaving the soap family for good.
