Is Love Island on ITV on Saturdays?

IF you're behind already, Saturday is the day to catch up, as Love Island takes a break that day.

But why is there no show on Saturdays and what's going on in the villa?

The seventh season of Love Island is well under way, featuring new contestants in the villa in Majorca for the first time in two years.

The ITV2 show was cancelled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but the series started on June 28 in its usual eight-week run.

Why was Love Island not on on Saturday?

At least previously, Islanders are given one day off when the production team cleans the villa, 2017 Winner Kem Cetinay told This Morning.

He said: "They give you one day off. You get one day off per week.

"What happens is, it gives them a day to clean the villa, and you take your mics off, and normally we go to the beach.”

"So what happens is, when you take your mic off, you are not allowed to talk about anything to do with the show, you have to talk about home life.

“You are being watched by the producers, because they don’t want you to talk about what is going on. They are quite careful about what you talk about, because they want to keep it so everyone at home can see it.”

But 2019 contestant Amy Hart told Closer Online: “Saturday isn't a day off. We don't have days off, we have our microphones the whole time.

"Every day I was in there I was mic'd and filmed.”

Is Love Island on on weekends?

But not to worry as it's back on Sunday night at 9pm.

And in the meantime you can watch ITV2 will air Love Island: Unseen Bits at 10pm, which is a round-up of everything that has been happening in the villa over the past week.

When will Love Island finish?

The last two summer series of Love Island were 49 episodes each, so we can expect the upcoming season to be a similar length.

The show is expected to end on Monday 23 August – with previous finales having also taken place on a Monday evening.

The couple named the favourite by the viewing public in the final episode stand to win £50,000 each.
