ITV 'axes cooking show' after just one series amid string of cancellations | The Sun

ITV has continued its string of cancellations by reportedly pulling a new cooking show after only one series.

Bad Chefs, which was hosted by YouTube star Chunkz, launched on ITV2 last year, but has failed to pull in the viewers needed to stay afloat.

The series saw a group of takeaway addicts ditch fast food, move into a house together and go head-to-head in a bid to learn how to cook.

After each daily challenge, someone was eliminated and evicted from the home.

Bad Chefs proudly declared itself the "most chaotic cooking show ever" but sadly didn't turn up the heat enough in the ratings, so has been given the chop according to TVZone UK.

Chunkz is yet to officially comment on the show not coming back.

The Sun has reached out to ITV for comment and clarification.

The latest reported axing has come as ITV lets go a string of its shows in a major line-up shake-up.

Most notably, public clip show You've Been Framed was axed in January after 33 years on the air, due to the rise of social media meaning pranks and accidents caught on camera are now uploaded to YouTube instead.

In November, sitcom Kate And Koji, which followed a café owner (Brenda Blethyn) and asylum seeker doctor (Okorie Chukwu) working alongside each other, was also cancelled.

"We've loved having Kate & Koji on the channel but after two series there are currently no plans for a third," an ITV rep said in a statement. "We would like to thank all of the cast and crew for their hard work."

The same month, The Good Karma Hospital closed its doors after four series and despite a devoted fanbase.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire spin-off, Fastest Finger First, was also axed in January after only five episodes on air.

Hosted by Anita Rani, the show saw five contestants compete for a guaranteed place on the next series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.

Finally, in February, The Larkins was officially cancelled as well after lead actress Sabrina Bartlett, who starred as Mariette Larkin walked away from the show after lodging a formal complaint against co-star Tok Stephen.

Due to the Rugby World Cup later this year, more shows have also been shuffled off the schedule, even despite their popularity.

This includes The Masked Dancer, Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow.

However, these have yet to be axed completely and could well return in 2024.
