Kate Garraway reveals she awkwardly watched Bridgerton’s ‘saucy’ scenes with her daughter Darcey, 14

KATE Garraway revealed that she awkwardly watched on during Bridgerton's "saucy" scenes with her teenage daughter Darcey.

The hit Netflix show, which was recently renewed for a second series, premiered back in December and proved a huge hit with fans.

Kate, 53, decided to jump on the band wagon and started watching the period drama with her 14-year-old daughter, not realising how much sex would actually be in it.

During a segment on Good Morning Britain earlier today, the I'm A Celebrity star couldn't help but bring it up with Lady Danbury actress Adjoa Andoh.

The mum-of-two said: "It’s wonderful escapism. I was lured into it by my teenage daughter who said, 'Mum, you’re gonna love this, it’s a costume drama', obviously knowing how to press my buttons…"

She continued: "If you’ve got a teenage daughter you know the idea of them wanting to do anything with you is exciting.

"So we sat down and watched it together and I suddenly found myself thinking, 'Am I watching a costume drama or am I Love Island?'

"It’s quite saucy, isn’t it? I almost thought should I be encouraging her to watch this? But then actually said, 'Mum, I wish I could wear a ball dress'. Normally she looks like Billie Eilish so I thought, I’m weighing up the idea of getting her into a dress because of this."

Bridgerton has its fair share of intimate scenes as it follows the men and women of Regency London's high society look for for potential life partners.

Just days after the drama aired, many fans were left mortified as they watched on with their parents.

And stars of the show have also had to deal with the embarrassment too.

Phoebe Dyvenor – who plays protagonist Daphne Bridgerton in the show – skipped over all footage of her pretending to get down and dirty whilst watching with Corrie star mum Sally.

The actress recently told The Daily Star: "I had to sit there and fast forward on high alert with the remote control. We managed it just about."

But she wasn't the only one who had to try and avoid any awkward situations.

Rege-Jean Page, who plays the dashing Duke Simon Basset, acted out many intimate scenes in the first season.

The actor sent out a message to all of his family over Whatsapp to warn them, but accidentally forgot to send it to a few of them.

He previously told Jimmy Fallon: "We missed one of my cousins. She sent me a message that was like, 'I had to make so many tactical cups of tea during the show.'

"She said, 'I came back, and you were still going, so I had to go back and put the kettle back on'."

He added: "So my family are very stimulated and caffeinated at this point, which sounds like a deadly combination."
