Kirsty Gallacher ‘thrilled’ as she lands new job on the GB News breakfast team

Kirsty Gallacher has landed a new job at GB News.

The experienced TV presenter has confirmed she’s set to become a breakfast host for the upcoming news channel.

In a tweet to her 431,500 Twitter followers, Kirsty revealed: “BREAKING NEWS… (excuse the pun!) I’m thrilled to announce I will be joining @GBNEWS as part of the channel’s breakfast team.

“Telling stories that matter to people is what drew me to broadcast journalism in the first place so I am beyond excited to get started! (sic)."

A statement from GB News confirmed the exciting news for 45-year-old Kirsty, who won many admirers as one of the faces of Sky Sports and as a presenter for the charity fundraiser Soccer Aid.

"Popular broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher is joining GB News as part of the new channel's breakfast team," the statement read.

"Kirsty was one of the main faces of Sky Sports and Sky Sports News for almost 20 years and has anchored various news programmes including Channel 4's morning show RI:SE.

"Her versatility as a host has extended to dozens of other shows including Ant Versus Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway, Gladiators, Kirsty's Home Videos, Simply the Best and the reality series The Games.

"She appeared for charity on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and took part in the 2015 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

“She has also released workout DVDs such as Body Sculpt with Kirsty Gallacher and guest presented Lorraine on ITV Breakfast.”

Last week Kirsty stepped down from her position with Soccer Aid, having been one of the main faces of the show for a decade.

But brunette bombshell Kirsty revealed her first love is journalism and that she is delighted to be returning to the frontline.

“Journalism is my first love and I’m thrilled to be getting back into the heart of it at GB News,” said Kirsty.

In an interview with MailOnline, the female presenter stressed: “The channel has amazing energy and excitement and there’s a real spirit of innovation there.

"It’ll definitely look and feel different, I think.

“It’s a small team but it already feels like a family. Everyone’s piling in and doing a dozen jobs each. It’s incredible to be joining at the beginning and building something from scratch.
