Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is back for the reboot of Changing Rooms, but the legendary interior designer would love to work his magic on the Love Island villa.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk as part of a round table for the show, Laurence revealed that celebrities are already badgering him for a Changing Rooms makeover of their own.
He explained: ‘They’re already queuing up! I’ve had little kind of questions from people like Rylan [Clark].
‘I remember being absolutely squashed into a corner by Jonathan Ross and his wife who said: “Oh, we’d love to do it, please, what can we do? Who can we swap with?
‘So I’m sure the minute the show goes out, we’re going to have everybody wanting to get going with it.’
Laurence revealed that he wants to put the Love Island contestants to work on a special spin-off, adding: ‘I think it’d be highly amusing if we did some kind of really quite weird fusion with Love Island.
‘So you know, get all those very, very underemployed budgie-smugger wearing people to maybe decorate a couple of holiday flats.’
The iconic decorating show is returning to Channel 4, 17 years after the original finished after 17 series.
Laurence will be joined by host Anna Richardson and designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, with carpenter and joiner Tibby Singh completing the team.
One of the original series’ most memorable moments was the teapot disaster in series eight, when Linda Barker wanted to showcase a homeowner’s prized collection of teapots on a shelf suspended from the ceiling… which subsequently collapsed and destroyed them all.

The incident hasn’t put Laurence off suspending items from the ceiling as he joked: ‘The point of the show is hairy moments, let’s face it.
‘I mean, the whole thing about it is “Will it work? Won’t it work?” I love the kind of the chaos theory of Changing Rooms, I love the bravery of Changing Rooms and the kind of hubris of it.
‘Like I’m going to take Linda Barker’s suspended shelf unit, which seriously didn’t work and very famously didn’t work, but I’m going to do it again, for rugby players who are obviously a lot heavier than teapots and let’s see how that goes.
‘Because I think that’s what the show should be. It has to be about the entertainment, it has to be about the energy because there plenty of lovely interior design shows out there but actually Changing Rooms always was the panto and I am that panto dame!
‘I am that one that will go a little bit too far with the colour schemes and ask a little bit too much of the fixings. Will this actually stick to the wall? Can you tile a bathroom using squares of processed cheese? We’ll find out.’
We can’t wait to see that that one looks like…
Changing Rooms with Dulux begins on Wednesday August 18 at 8pm on Channel 4 and All 4.
