A LEGENDARY comedy is returning to the BBC for the first time in 15 years in the latest iPlayer shake-up.
Yesterday, it was revealed two episodes of this week's EastEnders had been pulled from BBC's iPlayer service.
Now, it has been confirmed that Red Dwarf is returning to the BBC for the first time in over a decade.
The hit comedy last aired on the BBC in 2007, but Deadline is reporting that the BBC has acquired every episode of the first nine seasons, along with the revived four seasons which originally aired on UKTV channel Dave.
The network has also acquired the feature-length special The Promised Land, which aired on Dave in April 2020.
Red Dwarf stars Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules and Robert Llewellyn.

It follows Craig's character Dave Lister, a caretaker on board a city-sized mining ship who discovers he is the last remaining human being alive after an accident kills the rest of the crew.
He is joined by a hologram of his contemptuous bunkmate Rimmer, a creature that evolved from his pet cat, named Cat, Kryten, an android they rescue from a shipwreck and the ship’s computer Holly.
BBC iPlayer Director Dan McGolpin said: “The strangest gang in space are back on the BBC – with classic episodes of Red Dwarf right from the very beginning touching down soon.”
BBC iPlayer will also welcome back Kathy Burke’s BBC classic Gimme, Gimme, Gimme and Spencer Jones’ Mister Winner.
