Love Island’s Shannon slams villa couples for ‘tactical voting’ amid Faye row

Love Island star Shannon Singh has slammed couples on the ITV show for 'tactical voting', and defended Faye Winter following her explosive row on last night's episode.

The villa was full to the brim with drama on Tuesday night's episode with various couples getting embroiled in bitter rows with one another.

It comes after Sunday night's bombshell vote – which saw each couple forced to pick three couples who they thought was the least compatible.

Brett and Priya were dumped from the Island on Monday night, but the vote had a lasting effect in the villa for the other Islanders as Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole, Faye and Teddy Soares, and Mary Bedford and Aaron Simpson were all left vulnerable to the public vote.

Faye was left fuming with her fellow Islanders, and she raged at Jake and Millie for their supposed betrayal.

The lettings agent branded the others "two-faced" for not explaining their reasons for thinking her and Teddy were among the least compatible.

Faye received a lashing on social media from angry fans after her explosive outbursts – prompting some ITV viewers to lodge formal complaints to Ofcom about her behaviour.

Faye recently broke show records with over 25,000 Ofcom complaints being made due to her actions on the show.

However, former 2021 Islander Shannon Singh took to Instagram to defend Faye on Tuesday night, saying that she "loves" her.

The former OnlyFans model, who was kicked from the show at the beginning of the series after just a couple of days, was quick to suggest that Islanders had in fact been "tactical" with their voting, rather than making their choices fairly.

Taking to Instagram Stories with comments that have since been deleted, Shannon explained that although Faye's row with Teddy was awful, they are a genuine couple.

She also agreed with a fan that "tactical voting" was involved, going on to hint that the couples weren't voting truthfully when it came to Jake and Liberty.

She replied: "Agreed. I think for me it's most of them b*tching about Jake and Liberty and then when presented with a vote only some of them voted for them. Interesting".

Aaron had also accused Kaz Kamwi and Tyler of a "strategic vote" for him and Mary rather than Priya and Brett during the episode.

The star also posted a video clip, in which she hit back at the people on social media for their "vicious comments" following her opinions on the dating show.

Speaking to the camera, she said: "Love Island is just a TV show. There is no need for people to get vicious and nasty because there's a lot of people doing it.

"Every opinion is just lighthearted. It's just a TV show guys. Spread love, keep the peace. Yeah, it's actuall quite scary how vicious some people are getting."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVHub.
