Married At First Sight UK's Kwame Badu has defended his decision to ban wife Kasia from his house on the homestay part of the love experiment.
Usually the couples – who are put together by love experts – go to each other's houses to get to know each other, but Kwame, 42, shocked Kasia, 36, and fans of the show after refusing to allow her or the cameras inside his home.
Instead, he and Kasia walked around his local park, as he told his confused wife that he is "private" and "secretive", and said he didn't "feel comfortable" with taking her to his home while on the show, prompting fans to go wild as they speculated as to why.
Now, he's opened up about his decision to ban Kasia from his house in a fan Q&A on Instagram, as he insisted that he wanted to "protect" his home which he lives in with his two daughters.
A fan asked: "What is the real reason you wouldn't let k into your home?"
Kwame didn't hold back as he replied: "Because I wanted to protect the home my kids live in with me.
"But I made it clear numerous times to Kasia that I am happy to book an Uber at time of filming while we are jamming and go to my yard privately as in her and I but not cameras showing my road my living room bedroom that's too much for me."
He continued: "I also kept my kids off the show too and all this was fully understood prior to filming by production and K [Kasia] but that explanation didn't make the edits.
"Private and secretive was to the world not to my wife but context is a cold steak with no flavour."
Prior to his explanation, fan theories were flying around on Twitter as to his secrecy, with some even suggesting he already has a wife at home.
"Kwame can't bring Kasia home because he told his (first) wife he's away for work," one fan joked, as another said: "Kwame saying he's "private & "secretive" meaning gotta hide his secret gf at home."
"Na kwame is definitely already married man," added a third.
As Kasia and Kwame sat on a bench in his local park, Kasia said to him: "It would have been better for me personally if I could have been in touch with your environment because we're coming towards the end of this process now aren't we.
"So why can't we go to your house?' Kasia asked, and Kwame said: 'Well, I'm quite private and I'm quite secretive. It's just something I'm not comfortable doing on the process.'
Kasia replied: 'I understand that, but we did get married at first sight so we knew what we was coming into. That's a mental challenge for me in this.
"I'm putting myself on the table, you know, like why can't we go there?"
Married At First Sight airs on E4 Monday to Thursday at 9pm.
