Meet the Strictly Christmas special contestants including Anne Marie and Fred Sirieix

With Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice lifting the glitterball trophy in what was the most representative final in Strictly Come Dancing history, we're all still riding the Strictly high.

Luckily for us, we won't have to wait too long at all for our next dose of Strictly magic as the Christmas special is due to hit our screens this Christmas Day at 5.10pm on BBC One.

Taking part in the special episode this year are an amazing line-up of famous faces, including Anne-Marie, Fred Sirieix, Adrian Chiles, Moira Stewart, Mel Giedroyc and Jay Blades.

Here, we take a look at what they had to say about joining the line up and what Christmasy classics each celeb will be dancing the night away to.

Anne-Marie will be dancing the Cha Cha to Gwen Stefani's Feliz Navidad with pro Graziano di Prima. On taking part in the show, she said: "I’m excited to take part in the Strictly Christmas special. I love the show, and who would turn down a dance with Graziano?!"

We're inclined to agree, Anne-Marie! Next in the lineup is First Dates' Fred Sirieix.

"I absolutely love Christmas so I’m delighted to be taking part in the Strictly Christmas special and to be partnered with the magnificent Dianne [Buswell].

"I hope my dance moves bring some Christmas joy to everybody watching at home and don’t make the judges say 'Bah, Humbug!'"

Fred will perform a Quickstep to Shakin' Stevens' Merry Christmas Everyone.

Joining Fred and Anne-Marie is comedian Mel Giedroyc who said: " I don’t think I’ve been this excited about Christmas since I got my first guinea-pig from Santa in 1978." She'll be paired with Neil Jones and will perform a Couple's Choice routine to Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice.

Repair Shop star Jay Blades is also in the running this year. He'll be dancing the Jive to Hooky Street/Only Fools and Horses by John Sullivan/Ronnie Hazlehurst with Luba Mushtuk.

"I’m super excited, times two! One, because I’m going to learn a new dance apart from the 'Dad' dance, and two because I’m going to be on Strictly! It’s a show that I’ve always admired, and I can’t wait to see how I perform," said Jay.

Adrian Chiles will perform alongside new pro Jowita Przystal. The pair will be dancing the American Smooth to Otis Redding's White Christmas.

"Discouragingly, every one of my family and friends with whom I’ve shared this news, has reacted with horror. They can’t believe it I’m doing it, and neither can I. Thoughts and prayers with whichever poor dancer is lumbered with me," he said.

Last up is newsreader Moira Stewart. She's paired with Aljaz Skorjanec and will perform a Salsa to Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by Justin Bieber.

She said: "I’m really looking forward to the Strictly Christmas special. I've loved dancing for as long as I can remember. In fact it even helped me try to keep warm in my early coldwater flat…"
