32-year-old Amber Radchi gained prominence in 2015 after appearing on TLC’s hit reality series My 600lb Life, where she documented her weight loss journey. After becoming a candidate for gastric bypass surgery she has continued to shed pounds and is barely recognisable.
My 600lb Life is an American reality show which followed the life of morbidly obese people who were looking to kickstart their weight loss journey.
Although many found the challenge too difficult, Amber was one of the few success stories who continued to keep the weight off years after her appearance on the show in 2015.
Amber was introduced in season three and at the time she weighed 660lbs due to anxiety and an eating disorder.
However, she was able to lose enough weight for the life-saving surgery and has lost more than 400lbs since her time on the show.
As well as making changes to her diet and visiting the gym regularly, Amber also consulted in therapy.
There she was able to manage her anxiety and gain a better understanding of her past coping mechanisms.
Amber has taken to social media to document her journey and upload progress pictures, where she told her 261,000 followers: “I was REAL fat. Now I’m just normal-fat.”
On Instagram, she left fans in awe with a recent selfie and was inundated with praise and compliments.

A third follower s.w.jj.e commented: “I really think that this strength and desire to change your food life is very inspiring and admirable! You achieved your goal and I’m happy about it!”
While @jessybee1313 praised: “You look absolutely amazing.”
Despite rising to fame through My 600lb life, Amber revealed she has no interest in returning to screens.
According to US Magazine, Amber took to Facebook and shared she would not be participating in the show’s spin-off, My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now.
She reportedly said: “Until it’s for doing something rad and accomplishing something.”
“I don’t want the rest of my life to be solely measured in pounds lost.”
The List reported on Amber’s interview with Starcasm about not wanting to appear on the show again and where she slammed the reality show.
She shared: “The experience was very disorganised and jarring and there’s not a whole lot I can say using my grown-up tact.
“They ran late, reshot difficult-to-replicate scenes, and really sort of acted like bullies.”
My 600lb Life seasons 1-10 are available to stream on TLC.
