Netflix 'take inspiration from Spider-Man' for final scenes of The Crown | The Sun

NETFLIX may have taken some inspiration from the last Spider-Man movie for its finale of royal drama The Crown.

Current webslinger Tom Holland caused a sensation among fans when he was seen meeting the character’s previous incarnations, played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in No Way Home.

Similarly, “current Queen” Imelda Staunton will be seen in the sixth and final series of The Crown coming face to face with her “former self” in the form of Claire Foy and Olivia Colman.

A TV insider said: “She will ‘meet’ with them as part of an inner monologue where she looks back and assesses her long life and reign.

“They are among the most emotional scenes ever made for The Crown, not least because they reflect what the late Queen Elizabeth II might have pondered in her final years.

“The only pity is that all three actresses don’t meet in the same scenes.

The Crown’s future revealed after final Netflix episode

Imelda talks to her younger selves — played by Claire and Olivia — in two different meetings.”

This unusual element of the new series is just one of several twists, which also include dream sequences, that will feature as part of the creators “wrapping up” this chapter of the Windsors’ story.

The Sun exclusively revealed this month the final series of The Crown, which is due to to hit our screens in November, would feature the different versions of Her Majesty.

But it was thought that, other than Imelda’s scenes, the other Queens would only appear alone and in flashbacks.

A bigwin for fake Lee quiz?

THE 1% Club’s presenter Lee Mack clearly has the golden touch with game shows.

TV bosses are now even keen to make a FAKE quiz he fronted.

Lee recently hosted a fictitious show called 3 By 3 in an episode of dark BBC comedy Inside No.9.

Its writer and star Steve Pemberton has revealed he received several offers to bring it to life.

He said: “We’ve had some opening offers.

“People have pointed out there were some errors in the quiz show format. But enough viewers were fooled into believing it was the real thing – a proper quiz show – over the course of more than half an hour.”

Lee starred in the mock quiz that featured a round based on noughts and crosses, and a quiz team called Quiztopher Bigwins competing for big-money prizes.

Sid is on his way to clink

WHEN I revealed celebrities had agreed to go behind bars for a Channel 4 experiment, I wondered who might be bonkers enough to sign up.

But I can now reveal the full line-up of HMP, in which six well-known inmates are locked up alongside real cons.

Ex-EastEnder Sid Owen leads the pack, with comedian Tom Rosenthal, singer and Strictly star Hrvy and journalist Peter Hitchens.

They will join the already announced ex-MP Neil Parish and Gogglebox’s Marcus Luther.

Actor and political activist Laurence Fox was linked but is not included.

The group will spend eight days in decommissioned HMP Shrewsbury, alongside real inmates, who are all now reformed but have agreed to re-enter prison for filming.

TELLY bosses are to combine Britain’s love of true crime with game shows in a new and wacky show format.

The planned production will involve amateur sleuths competing to solve murder and missing-people cold cases for a big prize.

SINEAD O’CONNOR’S award-winning Sundance Festival film Nothing Compares makes its TV debut on Sky next month.

The feature-length documentary was first shown last year on US channel Showcase before following up in cinemas across the UK.

But it marks the first time Nothing Compares, which tells the story of Sinead’s rise to fame and controversies, will be available on British telly.

Director Kathryn Ferguson told me: “Nothing Compares isn’t a regular music documentary.
