"Stop talking on the f***ing internet and let's see what you've got to say."

He replied: "Yeah, I understand it. No one has really come along to take our place."

However, Liam has hit back at Noel's comments and has taken to social media to have his say.

This morning he posted: "Here's how I see it, the little fella aka potato has done a lot of damage to Oasis as a band/brand. He's got a lot of making up to do not just to me but to you the fans, the people that put us where we are today."

Oasis infamously announced their split in 2009 after the brothersfractious relationship hit boiling point.

In January, guitarist Noel told a DJ pal: “Well, you should never say never… it would take an extraordinary set of circumstances but that’s not to say those won’t ever come about.”

The brothers have grown closer amid the breakdown of Noel’s marriage to Sara MacDonald.

Asked by BBC Radio Manchester’s Mike Sweeney how he and Liam, 50, were getting on, Noel said: “Oh, brilliantly, yeah.”

Sweeney, who has known him for years, said: “Genuinely?”

Noel replied: “Genuinely, yeah.”

He added: “He (Liam) has taken a year out apparently to find himself.”

On The Radio X Evening Show with Dan O’Connell, Noel further hinted at a reconciliation.

He said “Look, it’s the done thing now isn’t it, and Blur are playing Wembley stadium, everyone’s getting back together.”

Noel did stress he didn’t need the money and that the band would need to do “something monumental”, adding of an immediate reunion: “It’s just not something that appeals to me. Now that’s not saying in ten years’ time it won’t appeal to me.”

Noel’s comments came days after The Sun revealed he had split from Sara after 12 years of marriage.
