NBC’s One Chicago fans can’t wait to see the stunning conclusions of Chicago P.D. Season 9, Chicago Fire Season 10, and Chicago Med Season 7. All three shows left fans on pivotal plot points after episode 8 which aired on Nov. 10, 2021. Now, fans want to know when the shows will return. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait another week for new content. And the shows aren’t airing at all on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.
Is ‘Chicago P.D.’ new tonight, Dec. 1, 2021? What about ‘Chicago Med’ and ‘Chicago Fire’?
Loyal One Chicago viewers want to know if Chicago P.D. is new tonight. Chicago P.D. Season 9 left off with a major cliffhanger in regards to what happens with Hailey Upton, Jay Halstead, and Hank Voight. Upton killed Roy Walton and Voight did away with his body, and now, Halstead knows the truth. Will Halstead come forward to the FBI and help put away Voight for his crimes, all while saving himself and Upton? Fans may find out in episode 9.
Chicago P.D. Season 9 Episode 9 airs Dec. 8, 2021, at 10 p.m. EST, meaning the show isn’t new tonight, Dec. 1, 2021. For Chicago Fire Season 10 and Chicago Med Season 7 viewers, they’ll also have to wait for new content.
None of NBC’s One Chicago shows are reruns tonight, either
While fans eagerly await the return of Chicago P.D. Season 9, Chicago Med Season 7, and Chicago Fire Season 10, they may also hope for reruns in the meantime. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, Dec. 1, NBC will not play any reruns from the past season, either.
So, what’s playing tonight on NBC? Chicago Med typically airs at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesdays. According to the NBC schedule, the 89th Annual Christmas in Rockefeller Center special airs instead. The Christmas special airs until 10 p.m. EST, which also eliminates the typical time slot for Chicago Fire at 9 p.m. EST.
As for what airs during Chicago P.D.’s typical time slot at 10 p.m. EST, NBC airs Kelly Clarkson Presents: When Christmas Comes Around until 11 p.m. EST.
Will ‘Chicago P.D.’ return in 2021? Here’s the One Chicago schedule for the rest of the year
As stated before, Chicago P.D. Season 9, Chicago Fire Season 10, and Chicago Med Season 7 will return in 2021. All three shows will return with new content on Dec. 8, 2021. This also marks the fall season finale for all three shows, which means they will go back on hiatus until January 2022.
While Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med showrunners have remained mum about what’s going to happen in episode 9, Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas has been quite vocal about the upcoming holiday episode. Haas noted Fire will have its first holiday special in quite a few seasons, and fans absolutely won’t want to miss it.
“For the first time in years, as long as I can remember, we’re doing a holiday episode,” Haas told TVLine. “Episode 9 is going to make the Hallmark Channel jealous of our holiday episode.”
After the holiday break, Chicago P.D. will also have to compete with Sophia Bush’s new medical drama, Good Sam, which airs on CBS in January 2022 during the same time slot. Bush was a series regular prior to her move to CBS.
Chicago Med Season 7 airs at 8 p.m. EST, Chicago Fire Season 10 airs at 9 p.m. EST, and Chicago P.D. Season 9 airs at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
