Power Book II: Ghost is the highly acclaimed Power spin-off drawing thousands of viewers to Starz every week of another instalment of the thrilling crime series. After a jaw-dropping episode eight, viewers have found a major link between Mecca (played by Daniel Sunjata) and James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick (Omari Hardwick) from the original series.

Mecca is one of the newest faces to join the Power franchise after he made his debut in season two as the Tejada family’s new drug supplier.

After Cane Tejada (Woody McClain) was kicked out of the family home he found a way to sabotage their drugs so they would be in need of a supplier.

This way he could introduce Mecca as his supplier and get back into his mother Monet Tejada’s (Mary J Blige) good books.

However, it was recently discovered that wasn’t Mecca’s only connection to the Tejada family.

Unbeknownst to Cane, it was revealed Monet had a history with Mecca, however she knew him as Dante and the two shared an illegitimate son.

It was all revealed in episode eight after Diana Tejada (LaToya Tonodeo) exposed her mother’s affair and revealed their cousin Zeke Cross (Daniel Bellomy) was in fact their older brother.

After the show-stopping episode, fans took to social media and made an interesting theory after recalling a scene from the original series of Power.

Taking to Facebook, Alexa Whitelock wrote: “What if Mecca was Ghost’s brother?

“In book one, Tommy asked Ghost what happened to his brother & Ghost called him ‘that Spanish mf” & Ghost said he was in the military.

“Then Monet and Mecca talked about how he left her to join the military, Ghost speaks Spanish too,” the user concluded.”

Other fans also believed this could become true and commented underneath the post, which was reshared on Twitter.

“Holy s**t, this could actually be true wtf, Tariq’s uncle,” wrote Tuchel_St_Patrick.

KingBraize added: “This would fill my chaotic needs.”

While Yaboirichb_ commented: “We’re reaching Jon Snow levels of conspiracy theories, and I’m here for it! Let’s go!”

However, other fans weren’t convinced, as Huncho_PapiMD stated: “Courtney [Kemp] said Mecca is not Spanish … Ghost learned Spanish from Angela.”

Despite this, the creator of the show Courtney Kemp had previously dropped a major hint on her Instagram Live about Ghost having a sibling.

When a fan asked if Ghost had a secret sister, Kemp gave a cryptic response and said: “No, not a sister,” then smiled and added, “hint, hint, hint, hint.”

This would make for another groundbreaking plot twist in the series as Tejada’s close business associate is none other than Ghost’s son Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr).

This would make Mecca Tariq’s uncle, which would solve the majority of his financial burdens as well as his feelings of loneliness from having no family around him.

However, things could take a disastrous turn if this theory comes true and Mecca discovers Tariq killed Ghost.
