AceShowbiz -“Power Book II: Ghost” aired its highly anticipated season 3 finale on Friday, May 26 despite the leak. In the mind-blowing episode, fans were taken to a wild ride of suspense that led to a full-out war at the end of the finale.

In the beginning of the episode, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.) went to visit Tommy’s (Joseph Sikora) mom Kate (Patricia Kalember) to threaten her into telling him where Tommy was. She later told Tariq that “a woman with red hair” named Monique came to the house and gave her a letter to deliver to Tommy. Tariq was angry when he found out that the letter contained the address of his mom Tasha (Naturi Naughton).

Tariq and Tommy eventually met with the latter telling his surrogate nephew that he and Tasha “hashed” their beef, which started when she killed his fiancee LaKeisha, out. In a flashback scene, Tasha told Tommy, “I’ve already lost too much family, Tommy. We don’t need to kill each other. Let’s dead this s**t. We are Day Ones. We’re the only ones left.” Before the U.S. Marshals arrived, Tommy and Tasha vowed that their families were safe from each other.

Meanwhile in the present time, Tommy told Tariq that he refused to join his battle with his now-enemy Monet (Mary J. Blige). “This ain’t my war,” Tommy said, “Plus, in New York? I’m already dead.” He additionally warned Tariq that going after Money would be dangerous for him as it would condemn his family to retaliatory death.

Later in the episode, Tariq and Diana (LaToya Tonodeo) planned to kill her own mother Monet. However, Tasha interrupted their plan as she pulled off a drive-by shooting before Tariq could do it. Monet was taken to hospital after the attack.

Cane (Woody McClain) then asked Diana if she knew who shot their mother and she surprisingly said it was Tariq. Apparently, a flashback scene saw Diana and Dru (Lovell Adams-Gray) staging a scheme to betray Tariq with the “Tariq kills Monet, Cane kills Tariq” plan. It was also revealed that Diana was actually the one who donned a red wig to visit Kate’s place and hand her the letter attorney Cooper Saxe sent to Monet.

Believing that his nemesis Tariq tried to kill his mom, Cane cornered Tariq at Noma’s warehouse alongside Dru and Diana. Tariq was so close to getting shot when Brayden (Gianni Paolo) showed up heroically to save Tariq.
