PHAEDRA Parks revealed she has split from actor Medina Islam but has now underwent a weight loss procedure after a recent visit to her Los Angeles plastic surgeon.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star declared she was "single and ready to mingle" after a stint on Marriage Bootcamp last summer failed to save her long-distance relationship with Medina.
Reality star Phaedra,47, underwent a cutting edge weight loss and muscle toning treatment in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and gave The Sun exclusive access inside the procedure.
She revealed she had been so busy balancing homeschooling her two sons and working during the pandemic, she had gained weight – and was looking for a quick fix to boost her confidence.
In an interview with The Sun, Phaedra said: "After Marriage Bootcamp, Medina and I attempted a bicoastal relationship but with long distance and the pandemic I decided we were better as friends.
"Marriage Boot Camp was a wonderful experience, but I am ready to get back into the dating scene.
"But it's really scary because of COVID and really not wanting to bring anything to my children or to myself, you know?
"So for me, most of me meeting new people has been online and that's been the safest alternative that I can find right now.
"But once we get this vaccination ready to roll, I think that, you know, after COVID and quarantine, you're going to be either a hunk, a chunk or drunk, and I want to be at hunk."
Phaedra told how trying to balance several jobs, which include working as a mortician and an attorney as well as being a reality TV star, with home schooling her sons Ayden, 10, and Dylan, seven, had taken its toll on her body.
She also revealed the virus made her too afraid to hit the gym.
Phaedra said: "As a mom of two young boys who are very active and I'm a single parent, so I'm cooking, I'm cleaning, I'm teaching school and I'm working my numerous jobs.
"I really hadn't had time to keep up with my gym and with COVID, I'm really afraid to go into the gyms right now.
"So I noticed that I was getting some fat in my middrift area, and I just really wanted to be able to tighten it up, lose some inches, but get some muscle tone at the same time."
During a trip away from her home in Atlanta, Georgia to LA, Phaedra went to see celebrity plastic surgeons Dr Payman Danielpour and Dr John Layke, where she underwent a session on their EMSculpt Neo machine – a non-surgical treatment which uses electromagnetic energy and radio frequency to burn fat and build muscle.
"I asked Dr Danielpour and Dr Layke what would be the most noninvasive, most effective and fastest thing I could do to see some improvement in my waist line," Phaedra explained.
"And they hands down said the EMSculpt Neo was the best. It's no downtime and no incisions.
"It is a machine that does all the work for you within a matter of minutes.
"So I am a prime candidate because I'm not trying to make a drastic change, but I want to feel more comfortable in my clothes.
"And I want my waist line to be slimmer and I want more muscle tone.
She added: "During COVID I've gained about nine pounds and it seems like all my pounds go to my mid area and my butt.
"I don't care that my butt's juicer, but my stomach, I want it to be lean and mean.
"No one likes a bone but a dog, however, to tone up and to feel better for myself will give me a little boost of confidence.
"So, you know, I can strut my stuff with my mask on, on these COVID streets."
Speaking about the new treatment, Dr Lakey said: “The EMSculpt Neo increases muscle mass by 25 percent and decreases fat by 30 percent.
"It is useful on the tummy, the buttocks, arms and legs. In addition it also has a radio frequency component which tightens skin.”
Phaedra, who said she noticed a big difference after the treatment, hit out at anyone accusing her of "cheating" her way to a perfect body.
She said: "Cheating is all in the eyes of the beholder.
"I feel like it's proper. It's true.
"It's so unfair when people say you're cheating because you're taking advantage of technology.
"I think that's nonsense because really it's effective time management, not all of us can have the pleasure of running a couple of miles every day or working out because we do have very busy schedules. And so I feel that this is much needed maintenance for myself."
Phaedra and Medina, who started dating in September 2019 entered Marriage Boot Camp just four months into their relationship before splitting at the end of last year.
Previously Phaedra dated radio DJ Tone Kapone – her first boyfriend since her divorce from husband Apollo Nida in 2016.
Rumors have been swirling that the star may be planning a return to Bravo's hit show RHOA.
