Coronation Street legend Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is gravely concerned for Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), as she continues to seek solace in the booze amid her heartbreak.
Nina has been struggling to cope in the wake of boyfriend Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) death.
Friday’s edition (June 11) of the ITV soap saw the young woman steal a bottle of alcohol from Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) shop, in the hopes that Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) would join her for a drink.
When Asha and Summer refused, however, she headed off on her own, and proceeded to down the entire bottle by herself, alone in the ginnel.
Nina woke up in tonight’s outing of the soap, still in the ginnel, and returned home, before lying to Roy about where she’d been.
She later tried to steal another bottle of alcohol from the shop but Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) and Carla Connor (Alison King) caught her.
Carla attempted to warn her about the dangers of seeking solace in the bottom of a bottle, but Nina refused to listen, instead heading off on her own yet again.
She bumped into Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), and managed to convince her to take her for a drink at the bistro.
Daisy, however, became more and more concerned about Nina’s state of mind, and insisted on walking her home.
Roy showed up, and tried to instruct a drunk Nina to return home with him. Nina refused, and hopped into a cab, which left Roy incredibly concerned.
Coronation Street continues Thursday June 17 at 9pm on ITV. Alternatively, All of this week’s episodes are now streaming on ITV Hub due to scheduling disruptions caused by Euro 2021.
