Rylan Clark-Neal has defended himself after fans slammed him for not wearing a remembrance poppy on Strictly Come Dancing spin off show It Takes Two.
The 33-year-old faced backlash after viewers were left unimpressed when he appeared on BBC 2 without a poppy.
Fans labelled the star "disrespectful", but Rylan has since responded explaining how his poppy fell off at the start of the show.
Ten minutes later he magically appeared to have a poppy badge clipped to his shirt.
In this time, though, fans took to social media to complain.
One commented: "It’s a bit disrespectful for Rylan not to wear a poppy. What’s going on here like."
Another penned: "Why has Rylan not got a poppy on? It’s a simple task."
"Rylan must be the only presenter on British TV not to bother wearing a poppy," a third added.
After the show had ended, Rylan took to social media to end the speculation and clear the air.
He confirmed: "FYI my poppy fell off just as we went on air tonight (I was dancing obvs). It was put back on in the vt package."
The poppy drama has come after Rylan took a dig at his husband who he has recently separated from.
The couple were married for six years and while interviewing Dan Walker and Nadiya Bychkova on It Takes Two he hinted at his past with Dan.
Referring to their performance on Strictly last weekend, which saw them dressed as lobsters, Rylan said: "However, I mean I'm not friendly with many lobsters these days, you know my past is my past…"
Behind the scenes the crew could be heard laughing.
Rylan added: "But I didn't actually understand how loud lobsters are on the dance floor."
Strictly – It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC 2.
