SINEAD O'Connor recently revealed a poem written by her son Shane was "the highlight" of her 2021.
The singer shared the "beautiful" verse shortly before Christmas, just weeks before the 17-year-old's tragic death.
Sharing it with fans on December 21, she wrote: "My favourite thing about 2021 was that my 17 year old son, Shane O’Connor wrote this beautiful poem.
"It’s in 6/8 tempo."
The poem read: "The blood never ends. The failure of men. Is to pick up a knife as quick as a pen. How many lives must we spend again."
"For the freedom of my cock and the love of my hen.
"Would you swap places with a man out of tune if the birds of December became the birds of June."
It goes on to add: "Would you go to old places just to make them look new or bring memories with you when out of the blue.

'NOW WITH GOD'
The 55-year-old tweeted: "My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God.
"May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace."
Police had launched a desperate search for Shane O'Connor who had been missing since Thursday in Tallaght, Dublin.
His mum, who has three other children, begged for him to go to the cops himself and not to cause any harm to himself.
And she had since slammed the Tallaght Hospital, in Dublin, for not doing more for the troubled teen.
She said: “How has a seventeen year old traumatised young person, who was on suicide watch, in Tallaght Hospital’s Lynn Ward been able to go missing???
“Hospital of course so far refusing to take any responsibility. Anything happens to my son on their watch? Lawsuits.”
The singer has threatened to sue the hospital if anything indicates that they may have been able to prevent his tragic death.
In a statement the hospital said: "The HSE cannot comment on individual cases when to do so might reveal information in relation to identifiable individuals, breaching the ethical requirement on us to observe our duty of confidentiality."
Police today confirmed the news of Shane's death, with a spokesman saying: "Following the recovery of a body in the Bray area of Wicklow on Friday, 7th January 2022, a Missing Person Appeal in respect of Shane O'Connor, 17 years, has been stood down."
Tributes have since poured in for the teen, with condolences sent to his heartbroken mum.
TV presenter Muireann O'Connell tweeted: "I am so terribly sorry for your tragic loss. My thoughts are with you and your family."

YOU’RE NOT ALONE
EVERY 90 minutes in the UK a life is lost to suicide.
It doesn't discriminate, touching the lives of people in every corner of society – from the homeless and unemployed to builders and doctors, reality stars and footballers.
It's the biggest killer of people under the age of 35, more deadly than cancer and car crashes.
And men are three times more likely to take their own life than women.
Yet it's rarely spoken of, a taboo that threatens to continue its deadly rampage unless we all stop and take notice, now.
That is why The Sun launched the You're Not Alone campaign.
The aim is that by sharing practical advice, raising awareness and breaking down the barriers people face when talking about their mental health, we can all do our bit to help save lives.
Let's all vow to ask for help when we need it, and listen out for others… You're Not Alone.
