WHEN E4 announced the return of Noughties tech show GamesMaster, fans were concerned about who would take on the late Sir Patrick Moore's hosting role.
But they can now sleep easy, knowing another legendary Sir will be watching over competitors as they battle to claim the Golden Joystick trophy.
News At Ten icon Sir Trevor McDonald will star as the GamesMaster when the programme returns later this year.
Sir Trevor said: “I am delighted to be taking on this iconic role for a new generation of viewers.”
GamesMaster, which originally ran from 1992 to 1998, will see celebrities, gaming champions and superfans take part in challenges, races and epic fights.
It will premiere on E4’s YouTube, followed by a traditional series on E4.
R.I.P. SEWER HERO
CORRIE fans were left distraught on Friday as Johnny Connor met a watery end.
These pictures show his funeral scenes being filmed – and a grieving Weatherfield coming to terms with Johnny’s death.
Johnny – played by Richard Hawley – was sucked down a giant sinkhole which led into a labyrinthine old sewer system.
Heroic Johnny had been trying to rescue estranged wife Jenny.
It’s certainly an unusual way to go.

IT'S STING FOR YOUR SUPPER
THE dinner party dramatics are back as Come Dine With Me returns to Channel 4 next week.
But in a change to your regular programming, a vegan week will follow.
Expect to see interesting dishes like stinging nettle soup, fake raw eggs and a ‘foraging feast’.
And presumably no beef between the diners.
