Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basaula) has become quite the mysterious character in EastEnders. We’ve seen him supporting Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) over the last few weeks following his stroke, but viewers are yet to learn more about Isaac’s past, until now.
Speculation began a few weeks ago that Isaac was suffering from an illness. He mentioned to mum Sheree (Suzette Llewellyn) how she is able to look past Patrick’s illness, but wasn’t sure there was anyone who could look past his.
Last night after Isaac and Lola’s (Danielle Harold) date, Sheree interfered, telling him everyone will run a mile as soon as they find out about his illness. Isaac said how he remembered the day he got diagnosed, and viewers discovered he has schizophrenia.
As a new storyline begins for Isaac, he goes on another date with Lola, and it isn’t long until he discovers her researching schizophrenia.
Lola and Isaac open up to each other on a date and Isaac tells her he’s schizophrenic, leaving Lola shocked.
Wondering about schizophrenia, Lola does some research, but Isaac arrives leaving her mortified when he realises what she’s been doing.
How will Isaac react?
