Strictly Come Dancing 2021 presenter Claudia Winkleman couldn’t help but narrowly avoid the chance to give her full verdict on Prime Minister Boris Johnson after Dan Walker’s routine.
After Dan and partner Nadiya Bychkova suffered a bit of a dance disaster with their Foxtrot, it was up to host Claudia to help brighten up their spirits as they received their scores.
The pair were awarded 21 points – including just three from Craig Revel Horwood – but Claudia helpfully reminded Dan of his very busy week, which saw him interview the PM.
After receiving their score, Dan said: ‘You’ve got to take it on the chin haven’t you, hopefully we’ll get it another chance.’
‘Also you’ve had a busy week!’ Claudia added. ‘You’ve interviewed the Prime Minister then training for the Foxtrot.’
‘I know, from the Prime Minister to the princess,’ he said pointing to his dance partner.
But unable to resist a subtly cheeky dig, Claudia commented: ‘I could say so much, but I won’t…’
Despite Dan’s slip-ups in his dance tonight, he shared a very special dedication.
‘We had a beautiful video today, many people will know Rob Burrow, rugby legend who sadly has motor neurone disease (MND),’ he explained.
‘His two daughters Macy and Maya sent us a wonderful video dressed as princesses with their hair all done nice and some advice.’
The BBC Breakfast host went on to give the girls a sweet message: ‘I know I made a mistake girls, your dad is amazing, you are amazing, and that dance and this princess was for you tonight.’
