Ellie Leach took to the dance floor for the second time on Saturday evening (16 December) to perform her Show Dance to a Jennifer Lopez Megamix but things didn't go quite to plan.
The former Coronation Street star suffered a blunder while performing the final the lift and she could be heard apologising to Vito at the end of the routine.
She said: "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," as Vito wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the cheek.
As they spoke to the judges, Motsi Mabuse told her: "I’m going to stand upon for this, because you’d deserve a standing ovation.”
Head judge Shirley Ballas added: "Be extremely proud of yourself, that was one of the most difficult routines I’ve seen.
"You owned it! You had one tiny hiccough at the end, just one. You didn’t panic up there! If I had a twenty panel, you’d be getting that it was unbelievable."
Anton Du Beke commented: "You should be very proud of yourself. Dancing takes two things, commitment and courage – and you had that in abundance.”
Finally, Craig Revel Horwood reassured her: "It’s a terrible shame with the last lift, because that whole dance routine was just flawless up until that moment. I’m so pleased that you did take a risk. You’re amazing.”
Ellie is currently the favourite to win the competition but could the slip up have cost her the competition?
Ahead of the final, Ellie shared a seres of throwback shots from her time on Strictly and penned a sweet tribute to her pro partner.
She wrote: "This was the first bit of filming we did for Strictly Come Dancing 2023. I didn’t think i could get any happier or my smile could get any bigger than it was on this day but as i’m writing this the smile just keeps on growing.
"Strictly has changed my life in so many ways and never in a million years did I think that I would make it to the final all these weeks ago.
"It’s because of the passion and determination of my wonderful @vitocoppola that tonight we will perform 3 dances in the Final of Strictly Come Dancing."
Ellie continued: "Thank you all for your support, you will never know how much it means to us, because of you who vote for us every weekend, I have been able to have the time of my life on that dancefloor and now all that’s left to do is hopefully give you all a final that you will never forget!!!"
