Strictly fans ‘can’t look’ at host Claudia ‘the same’ after hit show The Traitors

Strictly Come Dancing fans were struggling to look at host Claudia Winkleman in the same way during Saturday night's show, after recently watching her host new BBC show The Traitors.

Claudia, 50, fronts the hit new show, which has proven to be a firm favourite among TV viewers, with the first three episodes airing earlier this week.

Her new presenting gig differs hugely from Strictly, and fans were quick to notice the contrast when the BBC One dancing show aired on Saturday.

"Can’t look at Claudia now without thinking I’m gonna get murdered," one Strictly viewer wrote on social media.

A second said: "I want Traitors Claudia #Strictly," while a third fan added: "Seeing Claudia again on Strictly and I'm still in Traitors mode, expecting her to gather the judges and couples round a big circular table.."

"Watching #Strictly and just wanting Claudia to hurry up and get back to #TheTraitors castle so I can know what the hell is happened with my new family," a fourth TV viewer wrote.

The Traitors has been a hit with viewers so far and reports claim it has already been commissioned for a second series, with Claudia returning as host.

The BBC has struck a deal with Studio Lambert so that The Traitors can return for another run next year, with a source saying that the choice to commission a second series was a “no-brainer” given its popularity.

Speaking to The Daily Record, the insider said: “The Traitors has become a big hit after just a few weeks. It was a no-brainer to commission another series.

“Everyone is hoping it will be even more popular by next year and become one of the biggest shows on TV.”

An official announcement with all the juicy details is expected in the coming days, but Claudia's return is said to be a "done deal".

The insider added: “Claudia absolutely loves the show and thinks it’s a brilliant format. It’s basically a done deal that she’ll be back.”

Described as the Highland Hunger Games, the gameshow is located at Ardross Castle in Scotland and sees contestants attempt to work out who among them is the traitor.

Meanwhile, the chosen traitors are tasked with going undetected while choosing one of the other contestants to “murder” each night. Contestants can win a share of £120,000.

The UK version of The Traitors is based on a Dutch version called De Verraders, which is produced by Marc Pos.
