This Morning: Trolls take aim at 'miserable' teenage twins following glum appearance with multi-millionaire gay dads on This Morning

SICK trolls have taken aim at a pair of "miserable" 16-year-old twins over their glum appearance with their gay dads on This Morning today.

Barrie and Tony Drewitt-Barlow were on the show to mark 16 years since they became Britain's first gay dads, but viewers were more intrigued by the unsmiling faces of Aspen and Saffron.

The couple made history in 1999 when they used pioneering IVF treatments to conceive the twins via surrogate in California.

They appeared on This Morning today to mark the teens' 16th birthdays, but Aspen and Saffron did not look happy to be there.

Nasty trolls pointed out that the kids barely cracked a smile during the chat, and called them out via Twitter.

One posted a picture of Saffron's face, writing: "Smile? #ThisMorning" another added: "#thismorning the attitude on that 16 year old girl…"

A tweet added to the site stated: "Someone tell that 16 year old girl to crack a smile…" and it was followed by: "Those twins look so happy, the girl had a face like a smacked ass and the boy looks like he strangles cats…"

Several other trolls branded the twins "spoilt brats", insisting their wealthy dads may have been overattentive while the kids were growing up.

One wrote: "Another batch of stupid parents trying to buy love from their equally stupid, ungrateful kids ???? #ThisMorning"

Another added: "Level headed? They seem like miserable spoilt little brats… @itvthismorning #thismorning."

Barrie and Tony, who live in the US, have an estimated £38 million fortune, and their family leads a lavish lifestyle filled with supercars, huge parties and mansions.

Aspen recently revealed he was given a £110,000 Porsche and a custom-made Rolex by his super-rich parents to mark his 16th birthday.

The twins were also treated to an extravagant £24,000 party for their joint party, and Saffron wore a $1,100 dress for the occasion.

Aspen told the Mail on Sunday over the weekend that his two fathers, who he calls 'Dad' and 'Daddy', have shielded him and his sister from nasty comments as they were growing up.

He said: “Dad and Daddy have been incredible fathers.

“Dad and Daddy say their greatest achievement is having us and I’m proud of them as it wasn’t always easy, although they have shielded us from any negativity.

Aspen continued: "Like all parents they can also be a bit embarrassing at times.

“Daddy is very flamboyant. During school sports days he starts screaming and shouting, making himself the centre of attention.

"He’s just so gay all the time. Sometimes it makes me cringe but I love him for it too.”

The twins were conceived using the donor eggs of one woman, Tracie McCune, and carried in the womb of a surrogate, Rosalind Bellamy.
Barrie is the father of one of them and Tony is the biological dad of the other.

The process means that although the kids were born as twins, they are actually half-brother and sister.

The couple are also parents to another son, Orlando, and another set of twins, Dallas and Jasper.

Saffron has also revealed that Tony and Barrie are very protective of her, and make sure they vet her boyfriends carefully.

She said: "Dad and Daddy can be very strict and they both vet my boyfriends.

"Daddy can be so embarrassing when he gives them a grilling and tells them to behave themselves, although Aspen is worse.

"He tells me who he thinks would make a good boyfriend, but I’m holding out for Justin Bieber."
