TIME to get your mullets in check – Tiger King 2 has been confirmed to be back on our screens in just a couple of months’ time.
The bonkers documentary – which tracked the rivalry between eccentric roadside zoo owner Joe Exotic and animal rights activist Carole Baskin – gripped the world during the first weeks of lockdown.
Now, the series will be adding some new episodes to the saga.
It’s expected to track Joe Exotic’s ongoing efforts to be released from prison, where he is currently serving a 32-year sentence for the murder-for-hire plot of Baskin as well as a series of animal abuse charges.
Exotic has consistently maintained his innocence throughout, and has since claimed he is being mistreated in prison and also has prostate cancer.
Baskin is refusing to take part in the new documentary, after feeling ‘betrayed’ by the filmmakers for her portrayal.
She insists she signed on to the first episodes under the impression it was to be ‘the Blackfish of the big cat industry’ exposing the mistreatment of animals.
Instead, the focus was on her ongoing vicious rivalry with Exotic, which includes several allegations from him that she ‘murdered husband Don Lewis and fed him to her tigers’ despite having no evidence to prove as such and her consistent denial of such.
"I don't know how they put out a TK2 when Joe's in jail and I'm refusing to be played again," Carole exclusively told The Sun
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
The Big Cat Rescuer CEO added that she told executives to "lose my number," insisting that "there is no explanation for such a betrayal and false portrayal."
The original series was released in March 2020, and since then several major faces on the series have died or cut their ties from Exotic.
This includes Exotic’s husband Dillon Passage, who announced his split from Exotic earlier this year after two years of marriage after struggling to keep their romance alive while he’s in jail.
Exotic’s GW Zoo in Oklahoma was handed over to Baskin, who has now sold it under the condition that it no longer be used as a zoo.
Tiger King 2 launches on November 17th on Netflix.
