Saturday Night Live returned on December 11, 2021, with Billie Eilish as both a host and the musical guest.

This was Billie's first hosting appearance on SNL, marking her as the eighth consecutive debut host in a row.

On the December 18 episode, five time host Paul Rudd broke season 47's pattern of debut hosts, and featured musical guest, Charli XCX.

Paul Rudd will be joining the ever-coveted Five-Timers Club, after having appeared on the show in 2008, 2010, 2013, and 2019.

On November 20, 2021, the night's episode featured Simu Liu as the host and rapper Saweetie as the musical guest.

For the November 13 episode, fans saw Jonathan Majors, alongside musical guest Taylor Swift.

Outside of Covid safety protocols, SNL's cast also looks a little different this season after long-time cast member Beck Bennett announced his departure along with Lauren Holt just before the season premiered.
