NORTH CAROLINA Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey started dating fashion influencer Olivia Culpo in June 2019.

News of their relationship grew when the two started following each other on Instagram but the couple kept it quiet until October that year.

Who is Christian McCaffrey?

McCaffrey, 25, made a name for himself at 20 years old as a projected first-round pick in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers drafted him as the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.

The highest-paid running back in the NFL, McCaffrey signed a new $64million contract with the Panthers in April 2020 that included a $21.5million signing bonus.

The couple met through mutual friends but the 2012 Miss Universe pageant winner had reservations about dating another athlete.

Olivia Culpo, 29, previously dated former NFL player Tim Tebow in 2015 and NFL player Danny Amendola from 2016 to 2018.

Her hesitance eventually subsided, and she and McCaffrey started dating in June 2019. Her Instagram post on September 12, 2021, shows her support for McCaffrey at the Carolina Panthers vs New York Jets football game where the Panthers won 19-14.

After McCaffrey injured himself during the game on Thursday, September 23, Culpo posted on her Instagram stories, "Go Panthers" and later a photo of her boyfriend on the field.

Culpo is a model and socialite who won Miss Universe in 2012. She made headlines on January 14 when American Airlines told her to cover up before boarding a plane to Cabo San Lucas.

In a video posted to social media, Culpo reveals her outfit of biker shorts, a sports bra, and a cardigan that was deemed "inappropriate" by the airline.

She compares her outfit to another passenger who was dressed in similar attire.

In order to board the flight, Culpo had to borrow McCaffrey's sweater, and her sister commented on the video saying it was "f***ked up."

McCaffrey took the situation in his stride and similarly posted a photo on his Instagram story of him with his arms pulled inside his t-shirt on the plane.

"When your lady dress inappropriate AF," he said. "Exactly how Jack from the Titanic died."
