Who Is Tad Starsiak From Good Bones?

Thadeus “Tad” Starsiak brings the muscle to “Good Bones” on demo day. And besides his impressive strength, he is also charming and very funny. Although the HGTV show is primarily about the mother-daughter duo of Karen Laine and Mina Starsiak Hawk – and remodeling houses — viewers also love the family dynamic that the show brings.

For a recap, Karen and Mina own a company called Two Chicks and a Hammer. Mina and Tad are half-siblings, while Karen took him under her wing after his mother died when he was little. HGTV reports that the “Tad-manian Devil” is grateful for Karen. “When I was going through that rough time, every day I woke up and she was there for me.” He added, “It’s great having her as a teacher and as another mom.” #Familygoals right there!

Tad’s also close to Mina. He posted a sweet tribute to his “big sis” on her birthday on Instagram. “I appreciate and love you dearly and am grateful for all the free drunk hair cuts you give me! You’re an incredible mom and person. We are quite different, but it doesn’t make it harder to love you,” he wrote. How sweet! Let’s dig a little deeper and find out about the man behind the sledgehammer.

Tad started an inspirational clothing brand

Thadeus “Tad” Starsiak rose to fame as Mina Starsiak Hawk’s little brother on the HGTV show, “Good Bones.” However, he has years of experience in ripping things apart. According to The Cinemaholic, Tad was only eight years old when he first started doing demolitions for some extra cash. Talk about finding your calling at a young age! He then continued to demo houses throughout his school career. All the while, he learned to skills to become a project manager. Later, Tad used his talents to help Mina and Karen Laine in their remodeling company, Two Chicks and a Hammer.

When Tad, who goes by the Instagram handle @the_demogod, is not obliterating houses, it seems as if he has a gentler side. In 2020, he started another venture selling “Love Heals” merchandise. He sells clothing with inspirational slogans. According to the Love Heals site, the project is “about bringing awareness” and “loving ourselves and others more fully to help us heal our past traumas.” He shared more about his brand in an Instagram post. “I want to create ripples that change the world for the better and put my optimism to work,” he wrote. “Merchandise won’t change the world, but raising vibration is a good first step!”

Evidently, Tad believes that love changes as much as a sledgehammer can on a renovation-ready house. And that speaks volumes about him!
