Without Sin is making its move to ITV from May 15 with the whole series airing over the course of the week.

The psychological thriller stars Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure, who plays a woman grieving the loss of her teenage daughter.

Viewers will witness how the mother searches for the truth about her daughter’s murder years ago.

The show first aired in November 2022 on ITV’s streaming platform, ITVX, but it is now opening itself up to a wider audience.

How many episodes are in Without Sin?

ITV said of the series: “When we meet Stella Tomlinson (Vicky McClure), it’s been three years since the murder of her teenage daughter Maisy, but the wound is as fresh as if it were yesterday.”

The show is made up of four episodes, which will air on ITV from Monday, May 15 at 9pm.

The hour-long instalments will continue to air daily throughout the week, with the finale set to air on Thursday.

A synopsis for the first instalment reads: “A still-grieving woman meets the man imprisoned for the murder of her 14-year-old daughter as part of the Restorative Justice programme.

“But as the connection between them deepens, she starts to suspect someone else committed the crime and that they are planning to kill again.”

When the series first aired last year, actress Vicky explained what else viewers could expect away from the murder aspect.

She said: “It is a very twisty plot driven thriller, but also feels to me very raw and real – we’ve been pretty bold about showing all sides.

“The way that we’ve shot it, the characters we meet and who inhabit the world, it does have that working-class tone and I’m hoping people see the beauty within that, even down to the house parties.”

Creator Frances Poletti explained how returning home from a night out Stella finds ex-con Charles Stone (Johnny Harris) hunched over her daughter Maisy’s body.

Revealing how the idea came about, she said: “Vicky and Johnny had been looking to collaborate on a project for a decade since This Is England.

“I had to find something that would feel different but also play to their strengths as actors.

“My exec producer at Left Bank Pictures, Sian McWilliams, had recently watched a documentary about restorative justice and we agreed it was a rich jumping off point.”
