The former X Factor star, who is now a presenter on Hits Radio, announced today that she’ll be competing in the show when it returns this autumn.

Speaking on Hits radio this morning, Fleur, 34, said: "I’m equally nervous and thrilled to be part of this year’s Strictly line up.

"I’m excited to learn new skills and I want to soak up every moment of this magical experience.

"It’s such an honour to be on the show after years of watching it with my Father who loved it so much.

"Unfortunately my Dad is no longer with us but I know he will be watching over the ballroom in spirit.

England and Arsenal footie legend signs up to Strictly Come Dancing 2022

Coronation Street actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Loose Women star Kaye Adams, Radio 2's Richie Anderson, and Ted Lasso actress Ellie Taylor have also joined the line up.

Yesterday, The Sun revealed Helen Skelton would also be taking to the dance floor – after her devastating marriage split.

CBBC star Mollie Rainford was also announced to join the show.

Four new professional dancers will appear in the new series of Strictly, creating the show's largest ever roster.

It comes after two-time winner Oti Mabuse and fan favourite Aljaz Skorjanec announced their departures.

Yesterday, Arsenal legend Tony said: “To say I’m excited is an understatement – the lure of the sequins and the call of the salsa has me swapping my battered old football boots for a set of Strictly soft shoes.

"Am absolutely thrilled to be giving it my all on this year’s 20th anniversary of Strictly Come Dancing.

"I can’t wait to meet my partner – god help her – and start the dancing.”
