Yellowstone boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Kevin Costner as John Dutton. Joining him is Ian Bohen as Ryan, one of the Dutton family ranch’s work hands. With both stars being key members of the show since its premiere in 2018 on the Paramount Network, it might surprise some fans to know the actors have worked together long before this.

What project did Kevin Costner and Ian Bohen work on together before?

Yellowstone is beloved for bringing the classic western back to screens, with an added modern twist.

Set in contemporary Montana, the series follows the Dutton family and their long history of protecting their land.

Westerns are rare nowadays, making the series even more popular for embracing its genre roots while offering so much more seen in other series of its kind.

With season four finally dropping on November 7, fans can’t wait to see the relationships and friendships of the characters be explored further.

One of the defining aspects of the series is the chemistry between the characters, with many of the actors clearly enjoying their time working on the show.

However, some of that chemistry comes from the fact certain stars have worked together in the past.

Costner and Bohen are prime examples of this, with the previous project having more in common with Yellowstone than many would think.

They last starred together in the 1994 film Wyatt Earp, another great western adventure.

The three-hour epic follows the journey of the title character, played by Costner, as he travels the west, building a name for himself.

Despite the fact the two stars were both involved in the film, they didn’t share any screen time together due to Bohen playing a younger version of Costner’s Wyatt Earp.

Bohen, now 44, had a minor role, with the star only being 18 years old at the time.

Wyatt Earp was directed by Lawrence Kasdan, who is primarily known for being a screenwriter.

Some of his writing credits include Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Outside of Yellowstone, fans might recognise Bohen from projects such as Teen Wolf, Sicario 2: Soldado, and Wind River.

In fact, Bohen co-starred in Wind River with Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille and Martin Sensmeier.

All three stars are known for Yellowstone, playing Thomas Rainwater, Monica Dutton, and Martin, respectively.

Wind River was directed and written by Taylor Sheridan, the creator and showrunner on Yellowstone.

With season four just around the corner, fans have been reacting to the trailer which recently dropped.

Replying to the trailer on YouTube, one fan commented: “I just finished binge-watching all 3 seasons and I am not patiently waiting for season 4… This show is the best!”

Another added: “Just finished season 3 last night. Love this show and after this trailer I can’t wait for season 4.”

A third wrote: “This show is really spectacular! Waiting patiently for the next season 4 to watch! Love it.”

Yellowstone season four will premiere on November 7 on the Paramount Network in the USA. A UK release date has not been confirmed.
