A suspect in a domestic violence disturbance fatally shot a California cop while saying “Hey police” as he opened his front door, graphic video shows.

The footage, released Tuesday by the Stockton Police Department, shows the instant Lance Lowe, 30, shot Officer Jimmy Inn as the cop responded to a residence on May 11 for a report of a domestic disturbance. A caller told police a woman was bleeding and appeared to have been assaulted, Chief Eric Jones said.

“Police,” Inn says while knocking on a metal screen door at the home, the clip shows.

Seconds later, as screaming can be heard in the background, Lowe emerges from the doorway and opens fire on Inn, striking the officer multiple times, Jones said.

“Hey police,” Lowe says while opening the door, just before firing at the officer.

Inn immediately falls to the ground and wails in pain, the shocking footage shows. A second officer, Pancho Freer, later arrives on the scene, where he saw Lowe standing over Inn, and then opening fire in his direction.

Freer returns fire from inside his police cruiser while telling a dispatcher that his partner had been shot.

“Jimmy, you all right?” Freer asks, but got no response. “Shot fired, my partner is down … Jimmy, stay with me! Jimmy?!”

Freer then tells Lowe, who briefly went back inside, to “let the kid go” as he held his 8-year-old son in the front yard. Lowe then started to strangle the boy while refusing to comply with Freer’s commands, according to the footage.

“Don’t do it!” Freer tells Lowe. “Let the kid go, man. I don’t want to kill you.”

As Freer held Lowe at gunpoint, another man at the scene tackles the suspect, freeing his son.

Freer then fired multiple times, striking Lowe, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital, along with Inn, Jones said in a video statement.

“As difficult as it may be to see and hear for many of us, we believe the release of this information is part of our principles of transparency,” Jones said of the “traumatic” police-involved shooting.

The woman, whom witnesses said had been assaulted, fled the scene before cops arrived, but spoke to investigators days later, Jones said.

The chaotic footage ends as Freer shot Lowe several times as he was on the ground. Another man nearby says “Hey, watch,” as he narrowly got out of the way, the clip shows.

Cops found a gun inside Lowe’s home following the shooting. The 8-year-old boy, meanwhile, was medically cleared and released to his mother’s custody, Jones said.

Law enforcement officers from across California attended Inn’s funeral on May 19, CBS Sacramento reported. The father of three and five-year department vet was married to a fellow Stockton police officer, according to the station.

“These men and woman are putting their lives on the line, sacrificing themselves potentially each and every day for people whom they’ve never met before and that was the case for Jimmy Inn,” Jones said at the service.
