In natural hair care, product minimalism is beginning to take off. Hair care basics brand Bread Beauty just launched its first styling product: the Bread Beauty Hair Cream, and it’s perfect for summer curls and coils.
While Bread Beauty is fairly new, having launched in 2020, it’s already notable for its award-winning products. Now, the Black woman-owned brand adds the Bread Beauty Hair Cream to its lineup of Hair Wash, Deep Conditioner and Hair Oils. Staying true to its mission of providing the necessities, the hair cream is meant to be a lightweight leave-in styler. That’s right. It’s both a leave-in conditioner and a softening styler. By the way, if you know how incredible Bread Beauty products smell, you’ll be happy to know this product has a scent similar to the brand’s award-winning Hair Gloss.

Replacing four to five products, this styling hair cream offers shine and light hold to your curls. Plus, it doesn’t leave any white cast or crunch behind after unraveling braid-outs or twist-outs. And the hair cream features ingredients like mango butter and grape seed oil to help your ends thrive.
Review of Bread Beauty Hair Cream
As a type 4 curlyhead, I typically steer clear of anything with a light hold. However, I’m keen to use more lightweight products due to the heat this time of year. And as it turns out, this Bread Beauty product is so good that it’s all I intend to use this summer, so my other stylers will have to wait. The hair cream’s self-described “light hold” leaves curls soft yet firmly in place for days. I did a quick wash-and-go with this product, and I achieved definition and soft curls, and I hardly experienced any shrinkage. Not to mention, my day two hair had more volume than I expected.
Lightweight products are a must-have when you’re styling, and the fact that this acts as a leave-in conditioner means one fewer step in your routine.
