Ivanka and Jared's $24million fixer-upper

Ivanka and Jared’s $24million fixer-upper: Couple start renovations to create their dream home at 1.3 acre ocean-front plot on ‘Billionaire Bunker’ Indian Creek almost a year after buying it

  • Renovations are now under way to transform Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s new $24million mansion
  • The couple purchased the six-bedroom, eight-and-a-half bathroom mansion located in Biscayne Bay last year
  • Purchase came just seven months after the couple also bought a two-acre lot on the exclusive Indian Creek

Renovations are under way to transform Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s new $24million mansion after the couple purchased the lavish property last year.

The former first daughter and her husband purchased the six-bedroom, eight-and-a-half bathroom mansion located in Biscayne Bay, which sits in the exclusive Indian Creek estate, in April last year after the property was left sitting on the market for around six months.

The purchase came just seven months after the couple also bought a two-acre lot on Indian Creek, colloquially referred to as the Billionaire Bunker because of its celebrity residents, for $32.2 million.

Now, aerial images show the property being gutted and in a state of disarray as builders set to work on transforming the mansion.

Images show the property’s pool completely removed and metal poles in the ground as the waterfront home undergoes renovation.

The renovations come just days after images revealed the mansion of newly-retired NFL star Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen, who are among Trump and Kushner’s latest A-list neighbors, being constructed on the sprawling estate.

Brady and his wife reportedly paid more than $17 million for their mansion on Indian Creek Island and are now having the current house demolished to make way for a new ‘eco-friendly’ home, Page Six reports.

The former White House advisor purchased the lavish property just seven months after buying a two-acre lot on Indian Creek

Last year images from inside the couple’s new residence showed it featuring 26ft high domed ceilings, a grand double staircase, open entertaining areas, a large family and screening room, a wood-paneled office, large gym, and a huge master bedroom with two full bathrooms.

The property also featured manicured gardens, reflecting pools, a resort-style pool, and a large dock.

The mansion was sold to the couple by billionaire Alex Meruelo and his wife Liset Meruelo and previous owners include record producer Scott Storch, who owned the home from 2004 to 2008.

The purchase came months after the former White House advisors bought a vacant two-acre lot, which was once owned by the Spanish singer Julio Iglesias, for $32.2 million in Indian Creek Village.

This week aerial photos showed the new home of Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen’s being constructed on the island.

The celebrity couple’s home is across the street from a golf course and the couple are keen to make sure that their property is ‘ecologically sound’.

They will now share the island with a host of A-listers including hotel magnate Jeffrey Soffer, billionaire investor Carl Icahn, Haitian billionaire Gilbert Bigio, former Sears CEO Edward Lampert and former United Airways chief executive Rakesh Gangwal.

Also among the island’s residents are Hotels.com founder Robert Diener and Marquis Bank chairman Javier J Holtz.

Each home on Indian Creek is built around the perimeter of the island to ensure that all residents have a waterfront view, while the middle is occupied with the luxurious Indian Creek Country Club and a 18-hole golf course.

The village also has 24-hour marine patrol to keep an eye on the water surrounding the neighborhood.

Last year Ivanka confirmed she and Jared would be departing Washington DC in a farewell message posted to Twitter after her father left office.

Donald Trump’s eldest daughter said she would be ‘leaving DC in awe of the compassion, grace and grit that exists across this nation’.

She also expressed support for incoming President Joe Biden, wishing him, his wife Jill, vice president Kamala Harris and her husband Doug ‘wisdom, courage and strength’.

She wrote: ‘It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve our nation as an Advisor to the President.

Last year reports emerged that Don Jr was eyeing up two properties in Admirals Cove, according to The Palm Beach Post.

But Peter Moore, general manager of the property owners association, told the paper 30 residents have already expressed concern, adding: ‘About half have concerns about safety. The others have political concerns with what’s happened in the last couple of weeks.’
