AFTER adopting a dog and welcoming it to his family's home, a Texas man was shocked at the barbaric move his neighbor made.
Brandon Gauntt adopted pup Sky, who has an odd hobby – she likes to climb fences and walk along the tops.
The innocent activity was captured in a photo by Gauntt's neighbor, and surprised him.
He said: "I was shocked when I saw the initial picture."
The neighbors, terrified of Sky sitting six feet above their heads, contacted their landlord Percy Smith.
Smith then installed wood on top of the fence with hundreds of sharp nails – a move which has angered Gauntt.

He said: "I think of medieval times. This is something that is something that is fairly barbaric to me.
"God forbid she jumped up there and got her paw stuck, and my children come home and find their dog stuck on the fence, impaled."
But landlord Smith has defended his decision, citing Sky walking along the fence was a "threatening position".
Smith said his tenants have dogs and a new baby on the way, which is why he installed the menacing spikes.

He said: "You can't shoot the dog, you can't injure him, so you find a way to block him without injuring him and that's what this was."
It was over a week before Gauntt noticed the nails, and called police and to remove the sharp planks.
Leauge City, Texas, investigated the planks and determined they went against a city ordinance.
Fences in the city can't contain broken glass, barbed wire, spikes or nails designed to "inflict pain to a person or animal", or the homeowner could be charged $500.
In the meantime, Gauntt has installed barriers by trees which he said will stop exploring pup Sky from climbing.
Smith said: "I do not know what the resolution is. I could build a new fence and put it higher. That could be one option."
Elsewhere in Texas, a TikToker revealed his neighbor is building a giant fence and even a dam to stop him seeing into his yard – but the content creator says that he had the last laugh.
Dustin Minch (@dustinminch.official) filmed his neighbor building the fence, reportedly because he thought Minch was "spying" on him.
"My crazy neighbor is building a 20-foot privacy fence because he thinks I want to spy on him," he told his platform.
However, Minch admitted that it actually worked in his favor.

"But he fails to realize that I don't want to look at his s**t either," he added.
Minch admitted in another video that he had a "toxic" relationship with his neighbor.
