VOTERS want clarity over the status of the Pound before a second Scottish independence vote, a poll shows.
Nearly half said Nicola Sturgeon needed to set out her plans for the country’s currency before another referendum.
The findings come as the SNP holds an annual virtual rally with voters demanding Scotland’s First Minister offers assurances.
Four in ten want to reach pre-pandemic levels of jobs and growth before any vote.
Nearly eight in ten say politicians in Scotland must focus on tackling coronavirus not constitutional issues, the poll for Onward reveals.
Voters demanding a referendum before the end of next year dropped to just over one in four from more than a third.
And nearly four in ten want to delay any vote to 2027 or never. Scotland Secretary Alister Jack has hinted a poll could be held if 60 per cent of voters agreed.
A February Onward poll found 56 per cent of Scots would vote to quit the UK.
Onward’s Will Tanner said: “The message is clear. Instead of ratcheting up rhetoric, the Scottish Government should work to prevent a fourth wave of infections.”
