A desperate hunt has been launched to find Rayon Newby, 20, who was released "in error" from HMP Thameside.

Newby was serving a sentence for assault, harassment and burglary when he was let out on Friday, March 17.

He is from East London and has connections to the Tower Hamlets and Ilford areas.

The violent fugitive was described as a black man of around 5ft 10in tall, of heavy build with a pierced left ear and London accent.

Members of the public have been warned not to approach him if he is spotted and to report any sightings to the police immediately.
