Who is Rita Isbell?

Rita Isbell is the sister of Errol Lindsey.

After the brutal murder of her brother, Rita has spent the last 30 years coming to terms with his death.

In 1991, Rita Isbell sat in court listening to Dahmer claim insanity, while his lawyers stated he was "out of control" at the time of the murders.

She watched as the family members of Dahmer's other victims walked up to the stand to confront him.

She described them as all with tears in their eyes down and their heads down, but she refused to do that.

Instead, as she approached the stand, she lunged for Dahmer, yelling that he'll see ''what out of control is."

She carried on saying "never wants to see her mother go through this again.''

Looking her brother's killer right in the eyes, Rita shouted "I hate you Jeffrey'' as Sheriff's deputies grabbed her and dragged her out of the courtroom.

She continued to yell obscenities, calling Dahmer "Satan."

After leaving the courtroom, AP News reported Isbell said of those who spoke before her: ''They all had to just sit there and hold it in.''

''What he saw out of me … is what Errol would have done. The only difference is, Errol would have leaped over that table.''

Since the new Jeffrey Dahmer documentary, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story aired on Netflix, the video of the altercation between Rita Isbell and Jeffrey Dahmer has been viewed 259k times.

Isbell is played by DaShawn Barnes recreates that moment with precise accuracy.

But for the families of Dahmer's victims, the documentary has brought back the pain and anguish they suffered all those years before.

In an interview with Insider, Rita herself called Netflix “money-hungry” for making another series about Dahmer.

She claims she didn’t give permission for her altercation to be portrayed by an actor, and she didn’t even find out until she saw the clip online.

She said: “When I saw some of the show, it bothered me, especially when I saw myself.

“When I saw my name come across the screen and this lady saying verbatim exactly what I said, if I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought it was me.

“I was never contacted about the show. I feel like Netflix should’ve asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn’t ask me anything. They just did it.''

Rita went on to allege that none of the proceeds from the series have gone to any of the victims’ families.

Netflix has yet to provide a comment regarding these allegations.
