A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 50-year-old man was found dead at a house in Manchester.
Cops rushed to the property in Droitwich Road at 12pm today after a report of concern for the man's welfare.
Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, Greater Manchester Police said tonight.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Wilkinson said the man's death is being treated as an isolated incident.
He has urged anyone with information to come forward and speak to officers.
He said: "A murder investigation has been launched this afternoon and we are currently trying to establish the circumstances that very tragically led to this man's death.
"This is being treated as an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public and we currently have one woman in custody for questioning.
"Anyone who may have information relating to this incident is asked to contact police as soon as possible."

It comes just hours after a man with serious head injuries died after he was dragged out of a Manchester canal.
Two men seen drinking with the victim before the tragedy have been arrested after the horror unfolded near the city centre.
The man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was pulled from the water and rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Despite the efforts of medics, he died this morning.
