Today, the beloved television presenter celebrates her 50th birthday. Claudia is best known for presenting Strictly Come Dancing’s main result show on Sunday nights alongside Tess Daly, while she has also been the show’s main co-host since Sir Bruce Forsyth’s departure 8 years ago. Her television career started in the Nineties, when she began appearing frequently on BBC series Holiday.

Since, the broadcaster, who is known for her characteristic fringe and tan, has fronted BBC Two series The Great British Sewing Bee and been co-presenter of Let’s Sing and Dance during a distinguished career.

Last year, Claudia opened up about her home life and how her family survived the third coronavirus lockdown together.

The presenter, who has been married to husband Kris since June 2000, revealed she often questions “why or how” they are still together.

Claudia said she had never cooked Kris dinner, nor had she repaired his shirts, as her Scandinavian husband has a modern take on marriage.

She told the Sun: “Kris is very Danish in his ways.

“So it’s not up to me to make dinner, it’s not up to me to make lunch and it’s not up to him to take the kids outside to play catch.

“In 20 years of marriage he has not once asked me what’s for dinner. I married a feminist, my mother wouldn’t have let me not.”

The Strictly presenter also admitted that Kris is better at domestic tasks than she is.

Claudia continued: “He makes the bed better than me. He is tidier when it comes to the kid’s bath time.

“He gets them to school on time and makes a magnificent chicken. I have never, ever sewn on one of his buttons, he’s just better at it.

“I have no idea why or how we’re still together.

“I just think he has never expected me to do the house stuff and the kids stuff while he waltzes into the office.”

The couple, who live in central London, have three children: Jake, Matilda and Arthur.

Claudia and Kris were introduced by mutual friends in the Nineties and the presenter claimed she fell for her future husband’s impeccable manners.

She said: “What did it for me was how he behaved in restaurants, bars and planes ‒ indeed, simply around people.”

Imitating Kris, Claudia added: “‘Thanks so much, no rush, I’ll carry it over for you, here have a drink on us’.

“Having been a waitress every school holiday from the age of 16, it was just that magic characteristic that tipped me over.”

Yet despite the pair having been married for more than two decades Claudia revealed that her other half tended to be more “romantic”, while she “usually forgets” their anniversaries.

She said: “I’m not very romantic, so usually I forget.

“He’s more romantic than me, but if we were both romantic it would be disgusting.

“We’d just be licking each other’s chins all the time.”

She added in the interview with You Magazine: “I don’t need a trip to Paris, I don’t need anything fancy.

“I need, ‘I’ve run you a hot bath’ or ‘I know you love this box set so let’s watch it.”
