When Donald Trump sat down with Piers Morgan last week, the conversation did not go according to plan.
Trump stormed out of the interview after Morgan had the temerity to correctly state that Joe Biden was elected president in a free and fair election.
But before politics ruined this fun little gab session between friends, the former president got a chance to do what he does best — trash talk celebrities!
Yes, as you may already know, Trump profoundly dislikes Meghan Markle.
He’s spoken of his contempt for the Duchess of Sussex on several occasions, but it’s still not totally clear why he detests her so.
Trump has a way of explaining himself that somehow leaves you more confused than when he started.
The guy’s not exactly a threat to Ronald Reagan’s Great Communicator title.
Anyway, for years now, Trump has been warning Prince Harry about Meghan, cautioning the Duke that his American wife will leave him a ruined man.
Donald repeated these ominous predictions during his interview with his pal Piers.
But lest he be accused of merely playing the hits, Trump also threw in some new insults for the purpose of keeping things fresh.
“Harry is whipped. Do you know the expression?” Trump asked Morgan at one point.
“I’m familiar with the phrase,” the interviewer responded.
“I won’t use the full expression but Harry is whipped like no other person I think I’ve seen,” Trump continued.
“I’m not a fan of Meghan,” he added, as though that weren’t already abundantly clear.
“I’m not a fan and I wasn’t right from the beginning. I think poor Harry is being led around by his nose. And I think he’s an embarrassment. And I think she spoke badly of the royal family but in particular the Queen.”
Asked if he believes that Harry and Meghan should have been stripped of their royal titles after they left the UK, Trump did not mince words:
“The only thing I disagree with the Queen on probably one of the only things ever is that I think she would have said, ‘If that’s your choice, fine. But you now longer have titles.’ You know?” he told Morgan.
“‘I think that he has been so disrespectful to the country, and it’s a great country. I own a lot of things there.”
From there, Trump repeated his prediction that Harry and Meghan’s marriage will end in divorce.
“So, I want to know what’s going to happen when Harry decides he’s had enough of being bossed around,” he said.
“Or maybe when she decides that she likes some other guy better. I want to know what’s going to happen when it ends, OK?”
“You think it’s gonna end?” Morgan asked.
“I do,” Trump answered bluntly.
“I’ve been a very good predictor, as you know. I predicted almost everything. It’ll end and it’ll end bad,” the former president continued.
“And I wonder if Harry’s gonna go back on his hands and knees, back into the beautiful city of London and say, ‘Please.’ You know, I think Harry has been led down a path.”
Well, there you have it, folks.
Donald Trump says there’s a bazillion percent chance that Harry and Meghan will wind up going their separate ways.
Usually we don’t put too much stock in the former president’s trash talk, but he might be onto something here.
After all, if there’s one thing the Donald knows, it’s messy divorces!
