Gemma Collins shocks as she gets simple question wrong on The Weakest Link

The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins left the newest Weakest Link host Romesh Ranganathan speechless on the latest celebrity episode.

GC, 40, left Romesh, 43, searching for answers when she failed to know the how many beds were in a twin hotel room.

She claims her blunder was down to the fact that she "only stays in penthouses".

Romesh replaced Anne Robinson, 77, as the host of the hit competition show earlier this year.

The celebrity-packed episode will air on Thursday, 24 December, and the former TOWIE star stunned her fellow contestants with her holiday accommodation mishaps which led to her getting voted the weakest link.

Not knowing the answer to the simple question, GC said: "I only stay in suites or penthouses so when I got asked that question… twin beds, double… I really didn't know the answer."

Romesh questioned: "Was there any part of you that thought 'twin' had something to do with it? If anything the question was too cheap for you wasn't it."

Gemma simply said: "Basically yeah. Sorry guys."

There was nothing else the host could say apart from the iconic "You are the weakest link, goodbye."

Dressed as an angel for the celeb special, comedian Romesh added, "Enjoy the suite!" as she strutted off.

"Thanks, hunny, I will!," she chipped back.

Other contestants on the show include Kym Marsh, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Christopher Biggins and Bonnie Langford.

With self-proclaimed knowledge "like a historian", before entering the show, Gemma said: "I was really good at history at school, I'm like a historian, people don't know it but I did a project on Richard III, and basically I was so good at history at school, also geography, I'm amazing at geography."

"I used to watch Anne on the original series, but as you know hunnies I am all gamed out, I don't play games so it's not something I ever dreamed or envisaged of doing.

"But when I saw Romesh was doing it and he is hilarious, I was like 'Go on then, I'll do it'."

Each celebrity had a charity they were playing for, with Gemma's hoping to raise funds for Havens House children's charity in Essex.

The pressure of the show and the intimidating soundtrack all got a bit too much for the superstar as she added: "I can't tell you or underestimate how challenging it is when you are up there! You just freeze there is so much going on, you've got the lights, you've got to answer in a few seconds and you don't want to let the team down so it's quite pressurised hun.

"It's Christmas and at the end of the day I'm here for fun! I'm not one of these people that takes things seriously in life, do you know what I mean?

"Yeah I come on, I saw and I conquered and I'm leaving it to the rest of them now."

"Life's complete! I've been on The Weakest Link, it has been fun and yeah one for the CV hunny!"
