Geri Horner threw fans back to the 90s with a celebratory post for Victoria Beckham’s birthday as the former Spice Girls star turned 49.
Fans know that Geri and Victoria were two parts of the Spice Girls alongside Mel B, Melanie C and Emma Bunton.
The band rose to fame almost three decades ago and quickly became one of the most iconic British groups, selling 100 million records worldwide and becoming the most successful British pop act since the Beatles.
They officially broke up in February 2001, with each of the members going on to pursue solo projects in the music, fashion and broadcasting industries.
To celebrate Victoria’s birthday on Monday, Geri, 50, who earlier this year enjoyed a sunny getaway to a mysterious beachy location, took to Instagram with some throwback pictures.
The first image showed a baby Ginger Spice with her signature streaky hair as she hugged Victoria from behind in a waterproof coat.
Ever the icon, Victoria looked as steely as ever as she looked over her shoulder in a similar black puffer coat.
The second snap featured the singers in front of a small plane as they beamed for the cameras in quite the departure from the Victoria the nation has come to love.
“Happy Birthday @victoriabeckham! Wishing you a fantastic year ahead,” Geri captioned the post, which in just two hours garnered over 10k likes.
Fans also flocked to the comments to wish the fashion designer the best birthday, with one penning: “Happy Birthday @victoriabeckham, love you!!”
“A fantastic year ahead with a 5 person reunion! GIRL POWER,” another said, while a third added, “Let's celebrate Queen V! @victoriabeckham HBD to you!”
Victoria’s husband, David, also posted a touching tribute to her alongside yet another throwback picture, which, this time, showed the couple inches away from a kiss.
He gushed: “Happy Birthday to the most amazing wife and mummy x someone who inspires us every single day. We love you and you deserve to have the most perfect day. Happy Birthday. @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven.”
Romeo Beckham posted a more up-to-date photo of his mum, who cosied up to her footballer son with a sun-kissed complexion.
“Happy birthday to the best mum out there love you so much @victoriabeckham,” he wrote.
