Prince Harry and Meghan Markle used singer Taylor Swift’s security team during a quick visit to New York last week.

The royal couple were driven around and guarded by the security detail, including a former NYPD officer who is singer Taylor’s head of security, according to the Daily Mail.

A man in his 50s simply known as Jimmy, who was seen keeping a watchful eye over Meghan and Harry during their trip, has dealt with stalkers and intruders who have managed to make their way into Taylor’s home in the past.

A second bodyguard spotted with the royal couple has been seen guarding the popstar in the past, including during her appearance at the 2019 VMAs.

The two guards were seen at the swanky five-star Carlyle Hotel on the Upper East Side every day while Meghan and Harry were staying there, and accompanied them everywhere else throughout their visit.

Jimmy reportedly lives in a $5million apartment just across the hallway from Taylor’s $15million penthouse in a residential building in Tribeca.

He also controls the locks on the front door, regardless of who comes in and out.

It is not known whether Taylor loaned her security team to the Sussexes, who have many famous Hollywood pals, or if they hired the guards themselves.

It was an action packed trip for Meghan and Harry, so it’s hardly surprising they wanted the highest level of security protecting them.

The couple arrived in the city last Wednesday and were spotted enjoying a drink in the bar of the Carlyle Hotel, which was Harry’s late mother Princess Diana’s favourite hotel in New York.

On Thursday, they visited the World Trade Center with New York mayor Bill de Blasio and New York governor Kathy Hochul, before embarking on a walk around the famous 9/11 Memorial.

Meghan and Harry then visited a school in Harlem on Friday, before their meeting with the deputy UN Secretary General on Saturday.

Then on Saturday night, they spoke at the Global Citizen concert in Central Park – where they called for more coronavirus vaccines to be made available to developing nations.

The NYC trip was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first joint appearance since the birth of their daughter Lilibet in June.
